Newest Jewelry Sets

Still under the weather but managed to get a few things accomplished. The top photo is from a necklace of my mom's that was broken and I have saved the pieces for 12 years. I finally got the beads out and made an 18" necklace, bracelet and drop earrings. Sets are not what I usually do, but I like the way these turned out. The beads are white with a shine on them that are really unique. The bracelet is a wrap and I fixed it with a closure, so you wear it like a regular bracelet. This is the first one I have made like this and I think more are in the future. Just stepping outside that box I always talk about.
This bottom photo is another set. The beads are more like pearls and are deep amber with black beads that have a dark gold marking. It is also an 18" necklace. Each of these necklaces have a 2" chain that will allow the necklace to be 20". The bracelet is a two wrap memory wire with an amber bead on each end. The earrings have 4 beads on them.

Hope everyone had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. Next holiday is Fathers' Day. Then comes Labor Day and 3 days off. This is short, but wanted to get these photos to you. Thanks for reading my blogs and feel free to leave comments.
See you on Facebook! - Jan

Bracelets, necklace, bracelets, Oh My!

Saturday is here! Got to go to Branson, MO yesterday with my dear friends, Jessica & Cindy. We went to a Farm Girls sale and it was exciting. We all bought a few things. Cindy bought some bar stools that are really neat! Of course, we just had way too much fun!

I have been busy with my granddaughter, Krystan, and of course, working on some jewelry projects. Let me share a couple of pictures with you.
This is a six strand memory wire bracelet. It's made from beads that I had forgotten I had. Am I the only one with this problem?? I don't usually put two rows of the same beads, but I just wanted something that really would be out of the box for me. These are all glass beads. I love the combination of square beads with round beads and ending with a rough cut bead. This looks great on Krystan, so she will be wearing it to school in August.
Light green/medium green beads with a very light green heart shaped bead. Will finish the ends off with a heart shaped bead for a charm effect. These are either an 8mm or 10mm bead.. They are larger than what I normally use on my bracelets.

Swirled color glass beads with crystal beads. They shimmer and throw off different colors as you move your arm. Ended with a blue dangle. Krystan picked out the beads for this. I got them on sale at our local Sugar Gems (they are on Facebook) in Harrison, AR. I have $9.00 invested in a bracelet that would sell anywhere from $20 to $45, depending on the location. Krystan got to try it on for the first time last night. This will be another school bracelet. Makes me feel good when a teenager likes my work.

A simple, but feminine pink ribbon necklace with a dragon fly. The dragon fly is a popular item to have on any piece of jewelry. I don't know if it is to symbol good luck or because of the movie, it is still very popular. My daughter in law has a small dragon fly tattoo on top of her foot and it's really cute. You only see it in the summer time when she wears a flip flop type sandal.
Found these braided pony bands (10 for $1.00) at our Dollar General. I put a charm in the middle of a couple of them and I have bracelets. Krystan thought they were pretty neat. Guess, if you needed to put your hair in a pony tail, just take off your bracelet and it's done. I find it amazing when you take an item and use it for something else. It's like recycling! Only these are new items.
Well, as I close for this time, I want to wish you a Happy Memorial Day weekend. Two more days off. If you get a chance, thank a vet for serving for our country. Just take a few days out of your day to be thankful. Drive careful! Until next time - Nana Jan

New Memory Wire Bracelet Style

Happy Saturday! Our annual Crawdad Days ends today. I didn't go but, we usually have a huge turnout. Lots of activities, vendors, cars, dance, music, food, etc. Harrison, Arkansas is a neat town to live in and a great town to visit!
I am still busy with jewelry. Something I just never seem to get tired of! Have three photos to post so will tell you about each one.
Top left: These are bracelets for children and teens that are made with ribbon shoe laces and wood beads. They are a double wrap for smaller wrists. A friend, Cindy, gave me some shoe laces to try and I hope to do that in the next week. It takes a bead with a large hole. The pony beads hole is too large for these laces.
Top right:  Bracelet on the left is memory wire with tiny seed beads offset with pink beads. It is a one wrap. If your ankle is small enough, these make cute ankle bracelets. The bracelet on the right is bright pink with smaller light pink crystal beads.
Bottom left: This is the black and white bracelet I mentioned several posts back. It is a four wrap. Notice the chain???? Each chain piece is measured around the wrist when you have the bracelet on. Then I cut  the chain and each length is attached to the loop you make when you begin and end the memory wire bracelet. Attach the chain using a jump ring, to a loop. Put a clasp on the other end of that chain. Now, do the same thing at the other loop of the bracelet. You will have a chain at the top and at the bottom of your bracelet. The chain, after you wrap it, connects directly into your jump ring at the loop. Then, do the other the same way. Now, when you look at your bracelet, you will have a chain wrap, then the bead wraps and finish with a chain wrap. Let me know what you think about this??? I tried it on and it's very comfortable and looks good!

Have a great week. My next post will be photos of some flowers and a few of our animals.
Until then - Nana Jan

New one of a kind jewelry designs

Hi everyone! Been several days since my last post. I have been busy with jewelry and cleaning house. Managed to get to the thrift store and bought four shirts just for the cuffs. Hopefully I will start working on them Friday.
So, the pictures below will show you what I have been busy creating.
Top left: Dark blue & turquoise glass bead wrap bracelet. It has 3 wraps. The brown and tan pearl is a 7 wrap. I have black and white pearls to make another wrap. I have an idea on how to make this bracelet different from all the rest. Will post a picture if it turns out.
Top right: Amber crystals and clear glass with tiny flowers in them. Several of the amber crystals are 25 to 30 years old. The one in the middle is pink glass beads and lavender glass and acrylic beads with a cross in the middle. The one on the right is a purple color. It's made with all glass beads. The square beads have one side this is gold in color. Blends in with most anything you are wearing.
Bottom left: Square ceramic beads in different earth tone colors. This is longer than most of the necklaces I design. The one in the middle is all glass with old and new beads. Most unusual colors and shapes. On the right is turquoise beads and shell. The shells have been cut into round shapes. You will notice the shells have darker markings in places and some might not like this type of necklace.
Bottom right: On the left is the cord and ribbon necklace with 2 large round beads that are textured. Next to that is a stunning silver chain with an abalone shell and a silver and lavender dragonfly. The other two are cross necklaces with silver chains. Both crosses are a different design and each chain is different.
Thanks for letting me share this with you and for reading my posts. Leave comments at the bottom of these posts and I will be able to answer your questions or comments.
Until next time - Jan     **It's not the destination that matters as much as the journey to reach your destination.**

Bracelets & Necklaces Kind Of Day

It has been a very productive day for me. When I feel good, I get things done! Won't have directions for any projects today unless you ask for them. This is my sharing day!

A nine wrap bracelet. My first time to make one with this many wraps. It is made with memory wire with all glass beads that are 25 to 30 years old. Love these square crystal beads. Definitely a one-of-a-kind.

Another one-of-a-kind! This necklace is made with a variety of beads. Most are glass and some are very old. The necklace is 24" long, so it looks great with any type of top. I haven't put the clasp on it yet as I am undecided about which one I want to use. I have one that is a leaf. So, will make that decision in the morning.

Got my cowgirl bracelet done! Right above the bracelet is a one-of-a-kind "BOOT" bracelet. It slips down on your boot. Just now starting to catch on. These are fun to make.

My newest bib necklace made with yo-yos. This bib is a longer shape than my others and is done in pink and red with buttons. This is a one-of-a-kind. Course, most of the jewelry I make is that! I don't want to make duplicates of my work.We are unique and one of a kind and I feel my jewelry should also be that way!

Recycled T-shirt necklace! This is 4 strips of T-shirt with a zipper pin. I didn't make the pin because it is costly to buy the zipper material to make these. A fun necklace or you can wrap it around your wrist and have an attention getter of a bracelet. Love to recycle those T's. If you want directions on how I do this, leave your comment at the bottom of this post and I will tell you how.

Until next time - be safe! Jan

Pink Cuff Bracelet

Wanted to share the pink cuff bracelet with you that I didn't share yesterday. Time got away from me. My rhinestones are pink since the threads in this are silver. I used them just as an accent. Three broken clip earrings are the center of the bracelet.
Hope you are looking at cuffs differently. I've already caught myself looking into my husband's closet at all his long sleeve shirts. I think I need a ride to our local thrift shop!
